Karen

the gps unit mocks me, stubbornly
resisting my attempts to get sensible directions,
insisting my car is in a field—I’m on some road—
persisting with her instructions to make a u-turn

Note: I was working on the theory that a hyphenated word is treated as two words and the title is not included in the word count. But I could be wrong on that, in which case I apologise for wasting your time. Have a nice day.

Don't worry I'm going to assume that it is!

I don't believe Trifecta counts the title into the word count. And I think they've said before that [properly] hyphenated words count as one. I know MS Word counts it as one for me...

Anyway, great piece! I love it (:

Ha! Nothing worse than the peskily perky WRONG gps machine telling you that you have arrived at your destination when you clearly have not.

true story: this past summer someone exited a ferry here in Alaska, paid no attention to his surroundings and followed his gps directions right off the dock and into the drink. (embarrassing) :)

The GPS is persistent and annoying. Mine often repeats: "recalculating.....recalculating..."

Ugh! GPS can be annoying with its U-turn voice on repeat. Nicely done. And love the title too.

This is perfect and so true.

I am positive if I had a GPS I would though her, I mean it, out the window. Good subject for personification.

I have had a gps actually take me in circles before. Then again, Im not sure I followed it directly. Great post.

This is exactly why I don't have a gps in my car. Not that I need one in the small town I live in. That pesky voice telling you to make that U-turn... oh karen please be quiet. This made me laugh. Nice take.

My GPS mocks me quite often, when she's not nagging me to "Make a U-Turn if possible." :) Great piece!

Blessings,
Cheryl

My GPS and I often have a difference of opinion as to the correct way to go. We don't speak anymore.

Nicely done!
